Line M2 - Milan Subway (Metropolitana di Milano)

The Line 2 (Ita: Linea Due) was the second subway built in Milano. The first section of the Line 2 was opened in 1969 between Caiazzo and Gobba. Line 2 is also called Linea Verde (Green Line). Today it runs from the Southern neighbourhoods to the city centre then to the Northern neighbourhoods finally splitting up into 2 branches in the North. Eastern suburbs.

Totally Line 2 is 34.6 km long and has 33 stations; 4.7 km with 3 new stations are being built as part of a new, Southern branch. Works will be completed in the first month of 2008.
