Rosamia Badam is a fictional character from the anime series Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam. Rosamia is a member of the Titans and the first Cyber-Newtype to appear in the series. She, like fellow Titan Four Murasame, who is also a Cyber-Newtype, is very unstable due to all the treatments she received and has fits of insanity that drive her to kill indiscriminately.

Zeta Gundam

Rosamia first appeared when she was summoned to help Buran Blutarch attack the AEUG/Karaba transport "Audhumla" with her Gaplant as her opponents are flying over the United States. While her squad of Act Zakus concentrated on the ship, she engaged Kamille Bidan in the Gundam Mk-II and Quattro Bajeena in Hyaku Shiki. This first encounter ends with Kamille and Quattro forcing her to retreat and join up with Blutarch, whom she begs to let her join his team. She explains that she is haunted by images of the AEUG dropping colonies on the Earth and killing millions of people. She attacks the "Audhumla" again in San Francisco and nearly kills Katz Kobayashi in the process. However, Katz and Quattro manage to shoot both of the Gaplant's legs off, causing it to crash into the Golden Gate Bridge. Kamille delivers the final blow, but Rosamia manages to escape with her life just before the Gaplant explodes.

After this incident, Rosamia reappears several episodes later on Side 2's Colony 13 alongside Kamille (whom she believes to be her older brother), Fa Yuiry, and the two orphans, Shinta and Qum. Upon seeing Kamille, she introduces herself as his younger sister, Rosammy, and quickly bonds with Shinta and Qum. Although Kamille knows she isn't really his sister, he pities Rosamia and takes her back to the "Argama", where she is examined by the ship's physician Dr. Hasan. Her tests show that she is a Cyber-Newtype, prompting an immediate search by Dr. Hasan and Lt. Quattro. However, with a little help from Shinta and Qum, Rosamia commandeers a Nemo and escapes the "Argama". Although she initially helped Kamille in battle (still thinking he is her brother) against her fellow Titans, she ultimately turned against him and went back to the Titans. She later fights Kamille again while piloting a Baund Doc, but he convinces her to land on Colony 13 and get out of the cockpit after she relapses into thinking he is her brother. The two of them have a heart-to-heart talk where Kamille tells her about Four Murasame and how she died. But then, Gates Capa and Loren Nakamoto quickly use mind control waves to make Rosamia hostile again. In the process, she nearly kills Kamille but Lt. Quattro intervenes, forcing her and the other Titans to retreat.

Rosamia appears one last time near the end of the Gryps Conflict pilioting the Psyco Gundam Mk.II. By this time, she is under the impression that Gates is her brother and he sends her off on a mission to destroy the Zeta Gundam. Kamille senses her presence and sorties, wondering if the voice he heard belongs to Four. As soon as she spots Kamille in the Zeta Gundam, Rosamia fires at him immediately. Kamille leads Rosamia down a narrow tunnel where the Psycho Gundam gets stuck because of its massive size, forcing Rosamia to engage him in hand-to-hand combat. At one point during this confrontation, Rosamia runs into Fa, who tries to explain what the Titans have done to her. But Rosamia refuses to listen and runs back towards the Psycho Gundam, crying out for her brother. She climbs back into her mobile suit and starts shooting wildly in all directions, endangering the "Argama". Kamille tries one last time to get her to calm down, but seeing how close she was to destroying his ship, he fires his beam rifle at the Psycho Gundam's head and sends Rosamia flying out into space. As soon as she sees Kamille in the Zeta Gundam, Rosamia smiles and says, "Brother, I found you!" But then her visor breaks and air starts pouring out of her normal suit just before the Psycho Gundam's head explodes, effectively killing her.

During the final battle between Kamille Bidan and Paptimus Scirocco, Rosamia's spirit reappears alongside those of Four Murasame and several other characters (mostly women) who died throughout this conflict. Even though Scirocco is a Titan just like she was, Rosamia and the other spirits sided with Kamille who used their energy in order to defeat his opponent.

A New Translation

Rosamia also appears in the movie trilogy, but her role is significantly reduced as the whole arc where she is on board the "Argama" as Kamille's fake sister is completely cut out. Nevertheless, she still appears as one of the spirits during the final battle between Kamille and Scirocco, even though her death was not shown either.
