Branston railway station

Branston railway station

Branston railway station was a railway station serving the village of Branston in Staffordshire opened by the Midland Railway in 1889

It was between Tamworth and Burton upon Trent on the line originally built by the Birmingham and Derby Junction Railway. [Pixton, B., (2005) "Birmingham-Derby: Portrait of a Famous Route," Runpast Publishing]

With the arrival of local bus services, it closed in 1939.

It should not be confused with Branston railway station (Lincolnshire) - a former station close to Lincoln.
