Education in the Cayman Islands

Education in the Cayman Islands is compulsory to the age of 16 and is free to all Caymanian children. [http://www.state.gov/r/pa/ei/bgn/5286.htm "Background Note: Cayman Islands"] . "This article incorporates text from this source, which is in the public domain."] The literacy rate for residents over age 15 is 98%. Schools follow the British educational system. The Government operates 10 primary, one special education, and two high schools. In addition, there is a university and a law school.
