4ninuchi Mahjong

Background

The first Famicom Mahjong game, simply titled "Mahjong" was a smash hit for Nintendo. It sold over 2 million copies, yet it lacked the ability to play the game with more than 2 players (A standard game of Mahjong is designed for 4 people) so a little over a year later they released a follow-up. That game was called 4-Player Mahjong. It was also a big success and started a massive wave of third party mahjong games who tried to cash in on that success.
