Muscularis propria

The Muscularis Propria or Muscular coat is the muscular layer in the walls of the digestive and urogenital systems [http://training.seer.cancer.gov/ss_module05_bladder/unit02_sec02_anatomy.html"] . It is made of three individual muscle layers: inner longitudinal, middle circular, and outer longitudinal [ [http://cancerweb.ncl.ac.uk/cgi-bin/omd?action=Search+OMD&query=Muscular+coat" No match for Muscular coat' ] ] . It lies adjacent to the mucous membrane and is responsible for gut movement such as peristalsis.
