Augustus (novel)

Augustus is a 1973 novel by John Williams. It won the National Book Award [ [http://www.nationalbook.org/nba1973.html The National Book Foundation] ] .

In epistolary form, the novel tells the story of Augustus, emperor of Rome, from his youth through old age.
