< The Louisa Fire Department is the largest fire department in Lawrence County, Kentucky. It runs 10 apparatus out of two stations. The response district includes commercial and residential structures, a trauma center, and 1 coal burning power plant. The department conducts diverse emergency operations including protection of life and property, forcable entry, auto extrication, water rescue, search and rescue, high angle and low angle rope rescue, confined space rescue, collapse rescue, HazMat, community fire prevention and education, Fire Code Enforcement and medical first response. Their department is made up of 1 paid fireman and 45 volunteers.
