The battle of Mišar took place from the 12th to the 15th of August 1806, with a crushing Serbian victory being inflicted upon the Ottomans. Much of the Ottoman commanding core was killed during the battle.

The fighting began on Misar hill with the opening charge of the Turkish cavalry followed by their infantry. The Serbian archers and gunners mowed down the first line of cavalry and panic struck the Turkish lines. However, the Turks soon regrouped and engaged the Serbian infantry. It is then that Karageorge signaled the charge of the Serbian cavalry from opposite ends to defeat the Turkish force.

Aftermath

The battle forced the Turks into retreat and provided a significant military and spiritual victory for the Serbian rebels.
