February 9 1987 in England) is a British tennis player. He has competed in oneATP tour event so far in his career. He is currently ranked #496 in the ATP singles rankings and a career-high #490 in doubles. He has career earnings of under £15,000.Career
James has been competing in "Futures" ranking events around the world to gain ranking points, in which he has a 58-53 win-loss record. He made his first tour appearance in Valencia in 2007 as a wild-card but lost in the first round.
James qualified for only his second ATP tour event, the 2008 Stella Artois Championships at the
Queen's Club inLondon . In the first round onJune 9 he met former US Open and Australian Open champion , Russian playerMarat Safin and he gave him an almighty scare. Ward took the first set after breaking Safin in the third game of the match and managed to hold his serve for the rest of the set to take it 6-4. However Safin upped his game in the second set, gained an early break and won the set comfortably 6-1. Ward was also broken early in the deciding set and, despite putting up strong resistance, succombed to a 6-4, 1-6, 4-6 loss.
