"Past Masters, Volumes One and Two" is a compilation album by the The Beatles released in 1988 as a double LP. The two volumes were previously released a few months earlier on separate compact discs. It contains 33 recordings originally released between 1962 and 1970:
*27 tracks from Beatles singles (including some B-sides),
*All 4 tracks from their "Long Tall Sally EP",
*A U.S. album track, "Bad Boy", and
*A contribution to a various artists charity album.

All of the above tracks were not issued on any original Beatle album issued in the UK, although alternate versions of five of the songs were issued on original UK Beatle albums.

The front of the double LP sleeve is similar to the front cover of the Past Masters, Volume One CD cover which is black with white lettering. The back of the double LP sleeve is similar to the front cover of the Past Masters, Volume Two CD cover which is white with black lettering. This was the final Beatles album released as a gramophone record before the recording industry stopped manufacturing them in large quantities in favour of the compact disc format of prerecorded music. Subsequent new Beatle albums were released in the vinyl record format in small quantities as limited editions.

This compilation, combined with the 12 original Beatle albums (which are also included in The Beatles Collection box set) along with the Magical Mystery Tour LP, allowed the record collector to possess every Beatle recording released commercially by EMI from 1962 to 1970.
