Maria N. Chappelle-Nadal was a Democratic Party member of the Missouri House of Representatives, representing District 72 since 2005. In 2010, Chappelle-Nadal was elected to the Missouri Senate.

Democratic party activist

In 2008, Chappelle-Nadal was one of Missouri's superdelegates to the Democratic National Convention. Uncommitted at first, she declared her support for Democratic candidate Barack Obama on the same day Puerto Rico held their Democratic. Chappelle-Nadal's mother is Puerto Rican. [1]
