Kenneth Callahan

Kenneth Callahan (1905 in Spokane, Washington–1986 in Seattle, Washington) was a noted 20th century Abstract Expressionism painter, art critic [cite web |url=http://www.fosterwhite.com/dynamic/artist.asp?ArtistID=63 |title=Kenneth Callahan |publisher=Foster White Gallery |accessdate=2007-11-26] curator, and a founder of the Northwest School.

Callahan grew up in Montana before attending high school in Seattle. He attended University of Washington but did not graduate. Largely self taught, Callahan founded the Northwest School, along with Guy Anderson, Morris Graves, and Mark Tobey.

Callahan was a curator of the Seattle Art Museum for twenty years from 1933 - 1953. He was married to Margaret Bundy.
