Kevin Van De Wege is a Democratic member of the Washington State House of Representatives [http://www.leg.wa.gov/House/VanDeWege/ Rep. Kevin Van De Wege ] ] . Rep. Van De Wege represents Washington's 24th Legislative District, the Olympic Peninsula. First elected in 2006, Rep. Van De Wege serves as Vice Chair of the Agriculture and Natural Resource Committee, is a member of the Technology, Energy, and Communication Committee, and a member of the Sub Appropriation Committee on General Government and Audit Review. Rep. Van De Wege also serves on the Joint Committee on Military and Veteran Affairs and is an Assistant Majority Whip. Rep. Van De Wege serves the 24th District with House Majority Leader Rep. Lynn Kessler and Senator Jim Hargrove.

Rep. Van De Wege lives in Sequim with his wife Jennifer, a high school teacher, and their two children, Allison and Jackson. Rep. Van De Wege's also serves the public as a firefighter/paramedic with Clallam County Fire District #3 [http://www.housedemocrats.wa.gov/members/vandewege/bio.asp Rep. Rep. Van De Wege was born in Seattle in 1974 and grew up in rural Whatcom County. He worked on both berry and dairy farms throughout his childhood and attended Meridian Schools K-12. During his senior year of high school he joined Whatcom County Fire District #3. After graduating in 1993, Rep. Van De Wege attended Edmonds Community College where he earned an Associate in Fire Investigation in 1995 and an Associate in Fire Command and Administration in 1996. Also during this time he served as a resident firefighter with Snohomish County Fire District #7. Rep. Van De Wege then started Paramedic School through Northwest Medical Training. During the summer of 1998 he did a paramedic internship in Baton Rouge, LA and became a fully certified paramedic later that fall. Rep. Van De Wege was hired in February of 1999 in his first paid firefighter job as a firefighter/paramedic with the Sunnyside, WA Fire Department. He worked there for two years before moving to Sequim in 2001. In 2002 he completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Science from Washington State University. This was done through their Distance Degree Program.

In 2004, Rep. Van De Wege challenged Rep. In 2006 Rep. Van De Wege again challenged Rep. Rep.
