nihongo|"Noel"|ノエル|Noeru anime voices|Ryoko Nagata is a fictional character in the manga and anime series "Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch".

She is the Mermaid Princess of the Arctic Ocean, and is twin sister of Caren, although they are born in different places and have never met each other (this is because they were "chosen twins by fate"). Noel and Rina are close friends and have sworn to help each other when their enemy was making trouble in the seas. Noel and Rina escaped when their kingdoms were destroyed, but they were caught up by the monsters and Noel sacrificed herself to save Rina.

Since then, Noel has been contained in a sleeping glass until she was finally rescued.

As a person, Noel is quite gentle and courageous. In the anime, she visits the library sometimes to read while she is on vacation on shore with the other princesses, and is also revealed to like to study the mystical forces.

Noel's Forms

Noel has three forms: her mermaid, human, and blue Pearl Voice form.

Mermaid

Her mermaid form follows the trend of all the other mermaid princesses, with two pearl bracelets around her left wrist and tail.

Noel does not appear in a mermaid princess gown.

Human

In her human form, the colors of her eyes remains the same like when she is a mermaid. Her hair becomes deep blue and half as short as her mermaid form. She wears a necklace with her pearl inside it like the other mermaid princesses.

Name notes: Noel's name is written in phonetic katakana characters, which spell out "No-e-lu." This is the Japanicization of the French name "Noel"(noel also means christmas in french ). In French "Noel" is a boy's name , whereas "Noelle" is a girl's name...

Indigo Pearl Voice

Lastly, there is her idol form, her blue(Ai-iro) Pearl Voice.Her costume is a short blue dress with purple ruffles down the side.

Except for the colors, Noel's and Caren's dresses are similar. She has a beauty mark under her right eye.

blue Pearl Voice only has one outfit in the manga, and has received no power-ups. However, her one and only idol outfit is indeed analogous with the "second" idol outfits of the other mermaid princesses; it has double-layered gloves, boots, and ruffles.

In her idol form, like Lucia and the others, Noel can use her singing voice to get rid of enemies.
