Jukebox The Ghost is a Washington, D.C.-born, Philadelphia-based three-piece rock band. The band consists of Ben Thornewill (vocals & piano), Tommy Siegel (vocals & guitar) and Jesse Kristin (drums). Since 2006, Jukebox the Ghost has toured extensively, performing with Ben Kweller, Regina Spektor, Kanye West, Le Loup, Ra Ra Riot, Tokyo Police Club, and Travis Morrison (Dismemberment Plan), among others.

History

In 2003, Ben, Tommy and Jesse, met while attending George Washington University. During that time they ended up writing a lot of new material and wanted a new identity to coincide. Ben, Jesse and Tommy came up with the name "Jukebox The Ghost", after combining lyrics from a Captain Beefheart song and a line from the book Pnin by Vladimir Nabokov. Let Live and Let Ghosts

Jukebox The Ghost released their first LP on April 22, 2008. The album was recorded in North Carolina with Ted Comerford of Army of Me (band). [http://www.musicsnobbery.com/2007/08/jukebox-the-gho.html] Jessie Kristin suffered from "awful tendinitis" during the recording of the album and only got to relax while playing Mario Kart with the band. Since its release, the album has been met with critical praise from outlets like The Washington Post and Best Week Ever.
