- Westerbork (village)
Westerbork is a town in the Dutch province of
Drenthe. It is a part of the municipality of Midden-Drenthe.
The village gives its name to the
Westerbork deportationand later, concentration camp, located about 7 km north of the village, in the forests of Hooghalen.
Westerbork Synthesis Radio Telescope(WSRT) array was installed near the site of the camp in 1969.
Westerbork was a separate municipality until 1998, when it became part of

In 2001, the town of Westerbork had 4075 inhabitants.
