Merom Golan (Hebrew: מְרוֹם גּוֹלָן‎‎) is an Israeli settlement and a kibbutz in the northern Golan Heights which lies in the municipal territory of the Golan Regional Council. The international community considers Israeli settlements in the Golan Heights illegal under international law, but the Israeli government disputes this.[1]

Kibbutz Golan (later changed to Merom Golan) was established with funds obtained from the Upper Galilee Regional Council by Rafi Ben-Yehuda of Kibbutz Neot Mordechai after explaining to the council that he was going to the Golan to “start collecting cattle, sheep horses and donkeys” The council approved a budget of 10,000 liras. Raanan Weitz proposed an increase of the budget to the Israeli Minister of Labour Yigal Allon who provided funds from the public works for the unemployed (40,000 liras). The settlement was established on the abandoned Military camp of Aleika.[2]

The grounds display metal sculptures by kibbutz resident Johannes de Jong, many of which are assemblages from reused scrap metal parts.
