East London derby

East London derby

The East London derby is a term used to describe football matches between West Ham United and Millwall (Including Thames Ironworks and Millwall Athletic). They have a long standing rivalry together and both clubs have a long standing history of trouble between fans. There is some evidence that the rivalry began when there was a strike by the predominantly West Ham supporting ship works, whereas the Millwall supporting workers refused to join the strike.

First and only FA Cup meeting between the two.

First Millwall win.

Millwall 4-1 West Ham United 21-03-2004

Two Tim Cahill goals give Millwall a famous win at The New Den.
