Roger Bingham is Co-founder and Director of The Science Network (TSN [http://thesciencenetwork.org/ website] ) and creator of the international Beyond Belief conferences. He is a member of the Computational Neurobiology Laboratory at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies and the Institute for Neural Computation at UC San Diego. He was previously a visiting associate in biology at the California Institute of Technology. He is the co-author of "The Origin of Minds: Evolution, Uniqueness, and the New Science of the Self", which describes a mind that is dynamic and ever-changing, redesigning itself with each life experience.

Bingham has long been concerned with the communication of science. He was the creator and host of the critically acclaimed and award-winning PBS television series "The Human Quest". He was also the creator and executive producer of the KCET-TV (PBS/Los Angeles) Science and Society Unit. His most notable program was the "Frontiers of the Mind" series, which included "The Addicted Brain", "The Sexual Brain", "The Time of Our Lives", and "Inside Information". His programs have been translated into many languages and continue to be used in high schools and universities around the world.

Bingham has received many awards for his efforts to communicate science to the public, including seven Emmy awards, the American Psychological Association Award for Excellence in Television, the National Magazine Award, and the Writers Guild of America Award for Outstanding Documentary Script. He is also a member of the Directors Guild of America (DGA), the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA), and the Society for Neuroscience (SfN).
