2. (ARTHROPODA: Chelicerata)
In Arachnida, the attenuated first abdominal segment, joining the abdomen to the cephalothorax.
3. (ARTHROPODA: Insecta)
a. The second segment of the antenna. b. An ovariole stalk, or short duct connecting the egg tubes with the later oviduct. c. In Formicidae, the stem of the abdomen, between the thorax and gaster.
