Note: The ``Florida moss'' ({Tillandsia}, many tropical orchids, and most mosses and lichens are air plants. Those which are lodged upon trees, but not parasitic on them, such as the {Spanish moss} {Tillandsia usneoides}), are {epiphytes}. [1913 Webster]
