survey, liaison, and reconnaissance party
A task organization formed from the Marine air-ground task force and Navy support element, which is introduced into the objective area prior to arrival of the fly-in echelon (FIE). The survey, liaison, and reconnaissance party conducts initial reconnaissance, establishes liaison with in theater authorities and initiates preparations for arrival of the main body of the FIE and the maritime pre-positioning ships squadron. Also called SLRP.
