essential care
That care received within a theater that is dependent upon the mission, enemy, terrain, troops, time available, and other civilian considerations. It includes first responder care, forward resuscitative surgery, and en route care as well as treatment and hospitalization to return the patient to duty or to stabilize for movement to a higher level of care.
