GCMG (born2 January 1940 ) is a British diplomat.He was educated at
Ardingly College andKing’s College, Cambridge .He began his career in the British Diplomatic Service with a posting to
Moscow in 1964. Following a range of diplomatic posts he then served as BritishAmbassador toYugoslavia from 1985-1989. From 1995-2000 Wood served as British Ambassador to Russia.Since 2000 Wood has assumed a variety of advisory positions, including advisor to the then British Prime Minister
Tony Blair on Russian investment issues. He has also served as a Director of theForeign & Colonial Investment Trust , Senior Advisor toErnst & Young , Chairman of the Britain Russia Centre, Member of the Executive Council of the Russo-British Chamber of Commerce, Member of the Advisory Board ofRenaissance Capital , and Member of the Advisory Council of the British Consultants’ Bureau. Sir Andrew is also a Senior Advisor to the PBN Company, and a Member of itsBoard of Directors .He was made
