Posterior cord syndrome is a condition caused by lesion of the posterior portion of the spinal cord. It can be caused by an interruption to the posterior spinal artery.

Unlike anterior cord syndrome, it is a very rare condition.cite journal |author=Belen JG, Weingarden SI |title=Posterior central cord syndrome following a hyperextension injury: case report |journal=Paraplegia |volume=26 |issue=3 |pages=209–11 |year=1988 |month=June |pmid=3419866 |doi= |url=]

It is possible for it to present as Brown-Séquard syndrome.cite journal |author=Kuga A, Mitani M, Funakawa I, Jinnai K |title= [Posterior spinal cord infarction presenting Brown-Séquard syndrome] |language=Japanese |journal=Rinsho Shinkeigaku |volume=45 |issue=10 |pages=730–4 |year=2005 |month=October |pmid=16318367 |doi= |url=]
