The Australian Telecommunications Corporation was the result of a name change by the
Australian Telecommunications Commission , effective 1 January 1989, although formal incorporation did not occur until 6 November 1991. Like the Commission, the Corporation also traded under the name ofTelecom Australia . On 1 February 1992 it was merged with theOverseas Telecommunications Commission to form theAustralian and Overseas Telecommunications Corporation .ee also
