Bhakti Caitanya Swami was born on August 14, 1951 in Auckland, New Zealand. In 1972 he joined Srila Prabhupada's ISKCON. After taking initiation from Srila Prabhupada, as Raghubhir das, he became involved in public relations and book publications for Bhaktivedanta Manor. Bhakti Caitanya Swami is closely associated with the educational programs of ISKCON and teaches courses at the Vaisnava Institute for Higher Education in Vrindavana. In 1994, during the Gaura Purnima Festival, he took the renounced order of sannyasa from a senior godbrother and became Bhakti Caitanya Swami, he is also a member of the Governing Body Commission.
