The 2000 Men's Olympic Water Polo Qualifying Tournament was a tournament to decide the remaining five competing teams at the
2000 Summer Olympics inSydney, Australia . Seven teams were already qualified: Australia (host country), Hungary, Italy, Spain (1999 FINA World Cup), Croatia, United States and Kazakhstan (continental champions). The tournament was held inHanover, Germany , fromMay 6 toMay 14 , 2000 with fifteen competing teams. SinceAfrica decided not to send a team the number five in Hanover also qualified for the Sydney Games.Teams
