Placer County

The Loch Leven Lakes are located in Placer County, California. Three larger lakes and several smaller ones are centered at coord|39|17|10|N|120|30|15|W|region:US-CA_scale:24000 and can be found on the "Cisco Grove" and "Soda Springs" USGS topographic maps. [gnis|262761|Loch Leven Lakes]

The Loch Leven trailhead is near the Big Bend Visitor Center (just off Interstate 80), and the trail climbs 1,070 feet (325 m) in 2.5 miles (4 km) to reach the first lake, with Upper Loch Leven (also known as High Loch Leven [gnis|225268|High Loch Leven Lake] ) another 1.1 miles (1.7 km) beyond.
