Part of the Brakes Group of companies Brakes Catering Equipment is a catering equipment wholesaler based in Leeds in the United Kingdom.

History of the Company

Formerly part of Cearns & Brown, Brakes Catering Equipment was acquired by Brake Bros Ltd in July 2000.

In July 2007 they provided a large amount of catering equipment for the refit of catering facilities at Doncaster Racecourse.

From Mid 2006 until very early 2008 Brakes Catering Equipment also traded under the name of Catering Equipment Warehouse, though this name was later dropped in a move intended to reafirm the companies core values as part of the Brakes Group.

e-Commerce

In a move intended to allow them to remain competitive against others in their market-sector, Brakes Catering Equipment launched their first website in August 2007.

Distribution

Unlike other divisions within the Brakes Group, Brakes Catering Equipment do not use their own distribution network, instead contracting this out to the national courier company City Link Ltd.
