The Washington Kastles, a professional tennis team in Washington, D.C., are the newest franchise of the World TeamTennis Pro League. The Washington Kastles entered the World TeamTennis League in 2008 and are owned by Mark Ein. The team is named for Kastle Systems, a security company.

Kastles Stadium [ [http://washingtonkastles.com/teams/article.aspx?article_id=178 Washington Kastles > General > Venue ] ] was built on the site of the former convention center. The 2,020 seat stadium hosts the team this summer its inaugural season. The stadium is located a block from Metro Center on the corner of 11th and H St. NW, Washington, D.C. Tickets for the inaugural season went on sale June 2, 2008.

Thomas Blake

Thomas Blake was named the head coach of the Washington Kastles in June 2008. Blake became a professional tennis player in 1996. He partnered with his brother, James Blake, to play doubles in the US Open in 1992 and 2002. In 2005 Blake retired from professional singles.

Ambassador Program

The Washington Kastles started an Ambassador Program [ [http://washingtonkastles.com/teams/article.aspx?article_id=800 Washington Kastles > news > Kastles Ambassadors Program ] ] for local clubs, organizations and individuals who are dedicated to making the Kastles inaugural year a success. Ambassadors are rewarded with ticket discounts, formal recognition, and the ability to participate in weekly Kastles conference calls.
