Franklin College is a liberal arts college in Franklin, Indiana. It was founded in 1834 and was the first college in Indiana to admit women (1842). Franklin's athletic teams are known as the Grizzlies and participate in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference. Majors include Education, Journalism, Public Relations, Political Science, Theatre and Music, among others.

During the 1920s Franklin College gained national fame when its basketball team the Franklin Wonder Five became national champions and turned down an offer to play the professional New York Celtics. The current women's gymnasium was built in the 1920s specifically to accommodate the overflowing fans of the team.

Famous attendees include Indiana governor Roger D. Branigin, actress Marjorie Main, and film director Robert Wise.
