Robert Brewer (American football)

Robert Brewer is a former American football player. He played quarterback for the University of Texas Longhorns during the 1981 and 1982 season. A Richardson, Texas native, Brewer was barely recruited out of high school. He made the Longhorns football team as a walk-on. After graduation, Brewer work in the private sector, before returning to UT as assistant athletic director for development, in charge of raising funds through the Longhorn Foundation. His father, Charley Brewer, was a Texas Longhorns quarterback 1953-55, while his son, Michael Brewer, is currently a freshman quarterback at Lake Travis High School of Austin, Texas, where he backs-up Garrett Gilbert.
