John Spencer (boat designer)

John Spencer (1931-1996) was a New Zealand boat designer.

John Spencer [ [http://www.sailingsource.com/cherub/test/doku.php/people/john_spencer John Spencer - a brief biography] ] (d 1996) was born in Melbourne in 1931 and spent most of his life in New Zealand. He was a well known designer of sailing boats of all sizes, including the Cherub, Javelin (NZ) [ [http://www.javelins.org/History/JohnSpencer.html Javelin class designer] ] and Flying Ant classes of sailing dinghies.
