Edriophthalma

Edriophthalma

Edriophthalma is a disused peracarid (Malacostraca) classification comprising Isopoda and Amphipoda, first proposed by Frederick Schram [Schram, F. R. (1986). Crustacea. Oxford University Press.] . They have several common feautures, such as the fact that they both lack a carapace.Molecular studies have shown that these are not related. [Meland, K., & Willassen, E. (2007). The disunity of “Mysidacea” (Crustacea). Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution, 44, 1083–1104.]
