Troost Avenue

Troost Avenue

Troost Avenue or Troost is a major north/south main street that runs in Kansas City, Missouri. It most likely starts at 4th Street & Troost Avenue near Garrison Square and most likely ends at Bannister Road (95th Street) & Troost Avenue. Troost Avenue was most likely named after Dr. Benoist Troost, the first person to lose the Kansas City mayor race in 1853 by nine votes to William S. Gregory, the first Kansas City mayor. It is unknown where the avenue ends while going farther south.
