"Soft Hail" is an album by folk-singer John Craigie. It was released on February 25, 2008. It features a more mellow and folkier sound similar to his first album "i always -ed you".

Production and style

Forged in the crucible of heartbreak and longing, "Soft Hail" is Craigie's most intimate and personal album yet. Originally conceivedof as a "lullaby" coda to his previous record "A Picnic on the 405,""Soft Hail" evolved in the studio into something much, much more. WithThe Accidental Poets and a host of talented guest players on hand forthe recording, Craigie & Co. found a renewed focus on crafting sonicmoods and atmospheres to match the emotional heft of each song. Theresult is a thematically and aurally uniform collection of songs thatchronicle the bittersweet life of a traveling folk singer with starkand compelling honesty.
