Casey Crescenzo is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, most notably for the band The Dear Hunter and formerly The Receiving End of Sirens. He is also a producer who has worked with The River Empires, The Brobecks, The Cadence, Dakota, and The Great Green Machine Man. He also produced and appeared on the young band A06's first EP, "A06 Vs. Aids", as well as their first full-length, "Volume 1: The Dark Tower of Cypher Lecleur".

TREOS years (2004-2006)

Casey's start as a musician began in the Boston music scene when a musical act, the notably established The Receiving End of Sirens approached him, offering him the opportunity to perform along with them in light of a recent falling out with former vocalist Ben Potrykus. After hearing Casey's vocal work they offered to sign him on to the band permanently, which he accepted. The band then went to work on their self-titled E.P. and found that not only could Casey sing, he could also write in a very romantic/poetic format, which gave Casey the reigns to some of the writing for the five track disc, along with bassist Brendan Brown. The half-length was incredibly well received by the public and Triple Crown Records extended the band a contract in 2004, just a few weeks after declaring on their website that the band would not sign to a label because only minor labels had offered them contracts at the time.

TREOS was then rushed into developing their first full-length album, entitled "Between the Heart and the Synapse". On the album Casey played guitar, Rhodes piano, an electric sitar, and various other instruments while also helping the in the production of the album and the segues from one track to another. Casey, a victim of bipolar disorder, manic depression, Alzheimer's disease (or so a doctor believed, Casey does not) and a laundry list of anxieties, began to become irritable and unmanageable around his band mates. The symptoms became much worse in their '06 tour, during which various outbreaks of arguments occurred. As the tour was nearing it's end, Casey became incredible sick, with liquid filling his lungs and ulcers leaking acid into his stomach. He realized then that he needed help because his physical well-being was undeniably being negatively affected by his mental health. He returned to California and was diagnosed with the afore mentioned ailments in addition to several others, but eventually recuperated after months of therapy of hospital visits. Upon returning home however, he accessed his gmail which he had previous left untouched since his departure from the tour to find messages from the other band mates, all which stated that Casey was now no longer to be a member of TREOS.

The Dear Hunter years (2005-Present)

While a member of TREOS, Casey wrote the "Dear Ms. Leading Demos", tracks that did not seem to fit the style TREOS had become accustomed to playing. Casey decided after he parted ways with TREOS to devote his time and abilities to The Dear Hunter and make it his full time band. In September 2006, the band released its first album "Act I: The Lake South, The River North", an eight track EP, on Triple Crown Records. The album was widely praised by critics, despite loads of negative feedback from fans due to its irregular and unique styles, which, though not completely unlike those of TREOS, were distinguishably different from his former bands. As time wore on more and more fans began to gravitate towards The Dear Hunter because of the intricate storyline woven within their first album, a tale of a young man who lost his prostitute but overwhelmingly caring and affectionate mother at a young age. The Dear Hunter exploded onto the music scene in May 2007 when the band released their first full-length album, "Act II: The Meaning of, and All Things Regarding Ms. Leading", a continuation of "Act I", throughout which the main character has various encounters with a certain young female, Ms. Leading, a prostitute like his mother "misleads" him into believing that she loved him after a night spent alone together that ended in a loss of the boy's virginity. A book based on the story of Act II has been completed and authored by Casey. The art blog of Kent St John, who worked on illustrations for the book is right now down. This is most likely to the project being completed. But in spite of that, Casey is currently looking for a publisher or will publish it on his own, a Process that may take a while. Recent news however reports that Casey hopes to have the book out late this year. Casey has openly announced that he plans to record at least nine more albums over next few years, one for each color of the spectrum. At a Boston concert on July nineteenth, Casey clarified that Act III will indeed follow the plot line of Act I and II, and they will begin recording around November/December 2008. He hinted that he had planned the album name would be "Act III, There Will Be Blood," though is unsure of the finished title. He has also stated at several recent shows that Act III's title will be "Kickin' Ass And Hangin' Out".
