William Burgoyne Taverner

William Burgoyne Taverner

William Burgoyne Taverner (c. 1880 – 1958) was a New Zealand politician of the United Party, which was a revival of the Liberal Party.

He represented the Dunedin electorate of Dunedin South from 1928 to 1931, when he was defeated by Frederick Jones.

He was the Minister of Railways from 1928 to 1930.

He was the Mayor of Dunedin from 1927 to 1929, and was awarded an O.B.E. in 1953.
