List of Roman Catholic Seminaries

This is a list of Catholic Seminaries in the world, including those that have been closed. This list is a work-in-progress.

Australia

New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory

* Good Shepherd Seminary - established at Homebush in 1996 by the then Cardinal-Archbishop of Sydney, Edward Bede Clancy. Good Shepherd Seminary is the seminary of the Archdiocese of Sydney, and forms men for the priesthood for NSW and ACT. The previous Sydney seminary, St Patrick's College, was located at Manly.
* Holy Spirit Seminary - established at St Mary's in the Diocese of Parramatta by Bishop Kevin Manning in 2008.
* Redemptoris Mater Seminary - seminary of the Archdiocese of Sydney for the Neo-Catechumenal Way.
* Vianney College - established in Wagga Wagga by Bishop William Brennan in 1992.

Queensland

* Holy Spirit Seminary - established by the Queensland Bishops in 2007 and opened by Cardinal Levada, Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.

Victoria and Tasmania

* Corpus Christi College - established at Werribee in 1923 by Melbourne Archbishop Daniel Mannix for the dioceses of Victoria and Tasmania. Relocated to Glen Waverly in 1960, then to Clayton in 1973 and presently to Carlton in 2000.

Western Australia

* Redemptoris Mater Seminary - seminary of the Archdiocese of Perth for the Neo-Catechumenal Way.
* St Charles Borromeo Seminary - established by Archbishop Barry James Hickey for the West Australian dioceses.

* St. Thomas Aquinas Seminary (Denver) - Run by the Congregation of the Mission; operated from 1907 to 1995.

Connecticut

* Holy Apostles Seminary (Cromwell) - Diocesan seminary; opened in 1960. Formerly run by the Missionaries of the Holy Apostles.
* St. John Fisher Seminary Residence (Stamford) - Diocesan seminary; opened in 1989.
* St. Louis de Montfort Seminary (Litchfield) - Run by the Montfort Missionaries; closed ca. 1960

Delaware

* Dominican House of Studies - Run by the Dominican Friars; opened in 1905.
* Sulpician Seminary & Theological College - Run by the Society of St. Sulpice; opened in 1917.
* Washington Theological Union - Sponsored by seven religious communities; opened in 1968.

* St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary (Boynton Beach) - Diocesan seminary; founded in 1963.

* Assumption Seminary (New Orleans) - Archdiocesan seminary; operated from 1839 to 1867.
* Notre Dame Seminary (New Orleans) - Archdiocesan seminary; opened in 1923.
* St. Mary of Consolation Seminary (New Orleans) - Archdiocesan seminary; operated from 1870 to 1881.

Maryland

* Mount St. Mary Seminary (Emmitsburg) - Archdiocesan seminary; opened in 1808.
* St. Charles Seminary (Catonsville) - Archdiocesan seminary; operated from 1848 to 1977.
* St. Mary's Seminary (Baltimore) - Archdiocesan seminary; opened in 1791.

Massachusetts

* Blessed John XXIII National Seminary (Boston) - Archdiocesan seminary; opened in 1964.
* Divine Word Seminary (Miramar) - Run by the Divine Word Fathers; now closed.
* La Salette Seminary (Attleboro) - Run by the Missionaries of La Salette; operated from 1942 to 1965.
* La Salette Seminary (East Brewster) - Run by the Missionaries of La Salette
* St. John Seminary (Weston) - Archdiocesan seminary; opened in 1884.

* Ss. Cyril & Methodius Seminary (Orchard Lake) - National seminary for Polish immigrants; opened in 1885.

* St. Paul Seminary School of Divinity (St. Paul) - Archdiocesan seminary; opened in 1894.
* Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary (Winona) - Diocesan seminary; opened in 1948.

Mississippi

* St. Augustine Seminary (Bay St. Louis) - Run by the Divine Word Fathers; now closed.

Missouri

* Conception Seminary College (Conception) - Run by the Benedictine Monks; opened in 1886.
* Precious Blood Minor Seminary (Liberty) - Run by the Missionaries of the Precious Blood; operated form 1963 to 1983.
* St. Regis Seminary (Florissant) - Run by the Society of Jesus; operated from 1824 to 1831.
* St. Stanislaus Kostka Seminary (Florissant) - Run by the Society of Jesus; operated from 1831 to 1971.
* St. Thomas Aquinas Preparatory Seminary (Hannibal) - Diocesan seminary; operated from 1957 to 2002.

Nebraska

* Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary (Denton) - Run by the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter; opened in 2000.
* St. Gregory the Great Seminary (Seward) - Diocesan seminary; opened in 1998

New Hampshire

* Immaculate Conception Apostolic School (Center Harbor) - Run by the Legionaries of Christ; opened in 1982.

* Capuchin Theological Seminary (Garrison) - Run by the Capuchin Friars; closed in 1972.
* Christ the King Seminary (East Aurora) - Diocesan seminary; formerly run by the Franciscan Friars (1857-1990) and located in Olean (1857-1974).
* Divine Word Seminary (Conesus) - Run by the Divine Word Fathers; closed in 1965.
* Eymard Seminary (Hyde Park) - Run by the Fathers of the Blessed Sacrament; closed in 1966.
* Eymard Seminary (Suffern) - Run by the Fathers of the Blessed Sacrament; opened in 1909 and moved to Hyde Park.

* St. Charles Borromeo Seminary (Philadelphia) - Archdiocesan seminary; opened in 1832. The current Theological Building was completed in 1871.

Rhode Island

* Our Lady of Providence Seminary (Warwick) - Diocese of Providence, opened in 1942, relocated and made into a house of formation in Providence in 1982
