Zaw Win Htut

Zaw Win Htut (born January 21, 1964) is a famous Burmese rock, country, and blues singer with his band, Emperor. Currently demonstrating in music recording and studio performance, Zaw Win Htut turned up the rock music history in Burma into Western culture music.

Biography

Zaw Win Htut was born into a family, whose father was a doctor and grandfather (Shwe Taing Nyunt) was a national hero of Burma in the history. His mother, Htar was a folk singer. Nyi Htut was brought up by his father's supportive of rock music and playing guitar. He is a follower of the Eagles (music), Rod Steward, and the Beatles. Zaw Win Htut likes American cowboy style, but his son Ei Toe is a modern alternative singer with fewer known by audiences. His daughter, Chan Chan is not the follower, but become known for the sponsor of some many charity events.

Nyi Htut gained popularity after Burmese pop singer Khin Maung Toe regarded him as a spring chicken in Burmese entertainment arena during the 1970s. Zaw Win Htut and his famous band, Emperor was formed in the 80s with five members, Zaw Myo Htut (his brother and lead guitar), Kyin Kham Phone (bass), Wai Tun (drummer), Maung Maung Lwin (keyboard), John O' Hara (acoustic). His famous script writer are Thukhamain Hlaing, Minn Chit Thu, Win Min Htwe, Saw Khu Sae. Nyi Htut himself also writes some songs. His third album produced in the 80s was a hit by Burmese youths. Zaw Win Htut and his band, Emperor, brought into live gigs during the 90s after the transitional period, 8888 Uprising and Burmese capital and other cities were rock down with western music culture.

By early 2000, he also introduced Blue as a transformation and new introduction.

Zaw Win Htut has a love for and is a supporter of other forms of art. One of his dreams is to live in a house full of beautiful paintings. He has a collection of about 100 paintings by famous artists and others who are not so well-known. Criticism

Although his rock album hits the Burmese hearts, most of his albums in 1980s were copied tunes from Aerosmith, DIO, Judas Priest and some other metal artists except the lyrics are in Burmese because in the 80s people in Burmese people didn't like own tune as copied tunes. That critic issue became large by the late 90s and finally he decided to turn into own tune music singer. His first own tune album was Say Soe Pan Yan Myat Nhar (Colorful Face). Moreover, he received a negative feedback when his album, named Mahar, was produced by a propagandist writer Mya Than San. His supporters were in doubt that if he was under repressive military regime of Burma. But he reclaimed that it was a matter of business and his grant-father was a member of national hero, who wrote the song “If the country is strong, then the people will be strong.” and it is still plays at some military functions in Burma. During the 1990s he was under pressure that his rock style culture was controlled. His long hair was not allowed in stage, so it was cut short. He's an American car lover especially Chevrolet, he had a Chevy Astro, Chevy Impala, Chevy Caprice, Cadillac, Malibu and many more. He had another sibling he's a guitarist in the band "Zaw Myo Htut". He have a wife "May Khine Own" and 2 children "Eto" and "Tara".His family had 8 music generations.

All the songs in the album Say Soe Pan Yan Myat Nhar (Colorful Face) were actually copied tunes, and the album itself was a reversion of original (in Burmese) singer Min Min Latt in early modern music era in Burma. Most well-known original English songs in the album included Come Together, Beautiful Sunday, Black Magic Woman, Have You Ever Seen the Rain etc..

The band name is "EMPEROR" his band consist of 4 players, 2 of them were replaced with new players. The former drummer "Wai Tun" quit the band to continue on his studio (Nawaratt Studio) and another player is "Bo Kyin" replaced with "Bo Myint" because of drug addiction.
