GABRA6

GABRA6

Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) A receptor, alpha 6, also known as GABRA6, is a human gene.cite web | title = Entrez Gene: GABRA6 gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) A receptor, alpha 6| url = http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?Db=gene&Cmd=ShowDetailView&TermToSearch=2559| accessdate = ]

PBB_Summary
section_title =
summary_text = GABA is the major inhibitory neurotransmitter in the mammalian brain where it acts at GABA-A receptors, which are ligand-gated chloride channels. Chloride conductance of these channels can be modulated by agents such as benzodiazepines that bind to the GABA-A receptor. At least 16 distinct subunits of GABA-A receptors have been identified.cite web | title = Entrez Gene: GABRA6 gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) A receptor, alpha 6| url = http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?Db=gene&Cmd=ShowDetailView&TermToSearch=2559| accessdate = ]

One study has found a genetic variant in the gene to be associated with the personality trait neuroticism. [Cite journal
