Pleasanton is a village in Buffalo County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 360 at the 2000 census. Pleasanton was once the terminus of the Omaha and Republican Valley Railway, a Union Pacific line that ended in the 1940s.

Geography

Pleasanton is located at coor dms|40|58|7|N|99|5|17|W|city (40.968612, -99.088086)GR|1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.3 square miles (0.9 km²), all of it land.

Demographics

As of the censusGR|2 of 2000, there were 360 people, 145 households, and 103 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,090.1 people per square mile (421.2/km²). There were 153 housing units at an average density of 463.3/sq mi (179.0/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 98.33% White, and 1.67% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.67% of the population.

There were 145 households out of which 35.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.4% were married couples living together, 6.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.3% were non-families. 25.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 13.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.48 and the average family size was 2.99.

In the village the population was spread out with 28.6% under the age of 18, 5.3% from 18 to 24, 28.3% from 25 to 44, 21.1% from 45 to 64, and 16.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females there were 98.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.7 males.

The median income for a household in the village was $37,656, and the median income for a family was $42,250. Males had a median income of $27,813 versus $21,389 for females. The per capita income for the village was $16,101. About 2.0% of families and 4.5% of the population were below the poverty line, including 5.3% of those under age 18 and 14.9% of those age 65 or over.
