History

Seely released one album on Southern Music "Parentha See" in 1994. Two years later they were the first American band to be signed to British record label Too Pure. Their first release for Too Pure, "Julie Only", was a re-recording of their first album. John McEntire (of Tortoise fame) produced it, and it was received with some critical acclaim [ [http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/record_review/21620-seconds Seely: Seconds: Pitchfork Record Review ] ] , with many comparing them to Stereolab, My Bloody Valentine and Pram.

They toured internationally, supporting bands like Gus Gus and Trans Am, and released a third album, "Seconds" in 1997, before leaving Too Pure.

Their fourth and final album, "Winter Birds" (released on Koch Records) also got positive reviews [ [http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/record_review/21620-seconds Seely: Seconds: Pitchfork Record Review ] ] , but they disbanded soon after.

They reunited for one night only at a benefit show in 2006. [ [http://atlanta.creativeloafing.com/gyrobase/Content?oid=oid%3A93452 Creative Loafing Atlanta | Music | Sweet relief ] ]

Lori Scacco has continued making music, and released an album in 2004, "Circles", on Eastern Development. [ [http://www.stylusmagazine.com/reviews/lori-scacco/circles1.htm Lori Scacco - Circles - Review - Stylus Magazine ] ]

Steven Satterfield has continued making music under the name SILVER LAKES with Jim Prible, and released an album in 2006 entitled "The Great Pretenders". Eric Taylor, the drummer from Seely, plays on "The Great Pretenders" and joins Marc Tompkins and Todd Lindell on stage for live shows.
