Bratina was born and raised in Hamilton. After graduting from
Delta High School , he worked with Dofasco for two years as a lab technition. After his tenure with Dofasco, he found work as a radio personality, and he has most recently hosted the morning show onCHML ,CKOC , andCHAM in Hamilton, achieving the highest ratings (BBM 22 Share) of all morning shows in Hamilton. He also re-introduced phone-intalk radio toCFRB , and achieved highest listenership (120 thousand per quarter hour average).Bratina was also the
play-by-play voice ofHamilton Tiger Cats , andToronto Argonauts for a total of 20 seasons, and never missed a broadcast for more than 500 games. Bratina entered the 2004 by-election created when the previous councillor for Ward 2,
Andrea Horwath , entered provincial politics.
