- Command center (mobile)
A Mobile command center is a vehicle (typically a truck or bus) that has been converted to an operations office to be used by
police , Fire & EMS departments, oramateur radio volunteer emergency communications groups at the scene of a disaster or significant event. The vehicles are often outfitted with phones, computers, two way radios, TVs and other equipment. The Mobile Command Posts are typically staffed by special technical staff and higher level officials.A traditional Command and Control Center is operated by an agency 24 hours a day 7 days a week regardless of any external events (i.e disasters) and is located in a secure building. A Command and Control Center operates as the agencies dispatch center, surveillance monitoring center, coordination office and alarm monitoring center all in one. Command and control centers are not staffed by high level officials but rather by highly skilled technical staff. When a serious incident occurs the staff will notify the agencies higher level officials.
