Its population has fluctuated between 400 and 600 [ [http://www.petrockstowe.co.uk/history.html History of Village] ] . At one time it had a railway station (Petrockstowe railway station) [ [http://www.petrockstowe-local-history.org.uk/ Village Web-site] ] , a school and a tannery.
