The Down from the Mountain Show

The Down from the Mountain Show

"The Down from the Mountain Show" is a weekly radio program that has been broadcast since 2005 on WSUM, Madison, WI. Named after the award winning 2000 documentary Down from the Mountain. "The Down From the Mountain Show" provides a weekly survey of the varied subgenres that fall under the large umbrella of "old time music". The program espouses broad aesthetic guidelines over a rigidly defined format. Included in play are Bluegrass, Newgrass, Country, American Folk and Americana, with a focus on smaller regional subgenres such as Appalachian Folk Music, Celtic Trad and Zydeco.
