Eyran Katsenelenbogen (* July 5, 1965) is a jazz pianist.

Biography

Eyran Katsenelenbogen is a remote relative of Felix Mendelsohn and Martin Buber. [ [http://www.eyran.com/page2.html EYRAN KATSENELENBOGEN: FULL BIOGRAPHY] ] He was born in Israel. At the age of 5, he started taking lessons by Aida Barenboim, mother and teacher of the pianist and conductor Daniel Barenboim. Soon, he devoted himself to jazz music and signed to the French (???) label "Jazzis". He holds a faculty position at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston since 1996.

In September 2006, he presented his new CD "Solotude" on his European tour in Gerhard Hummer's Culture Parlour. On his tour in 2007, he meet first time the classical pianist Andrei Ivanovitch in the [http://www.sossmar.de/local-living/culture/Hummer/ Hummer's Culture Parlour] in Soßmar, in 2008 both pianists has continued there "jazz meets classic" work on sold out concert-places.The influences of these genre will find on his newest CD "88 fingers".
